MEHTAPHOR (meh-tə-fur) derived from designer Siddhi Mehta's family name who inspire her to follow traditions with generations. Following her mother’s footsteps, a formally trained jewelry designer from GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and manufacturing from IIJ, Siddhi too took up designing for weddings. She felt the market needed a gold-plated and gold-foiled jewelry brand that gives you the aesthetics and standard matching up to a high end real jewelry and doesn't tarnish like the cheaper quality stuff out there. Her design inspirations are derived from Victorian and Moghulheritage of intricate workmanship, though you will find traces of modern “desi-ness" in every piece.
Her approach to life has always been old school - Handwritten letters over E-mails, heritage architectural constructions to sky scrapers, handmade intricate designing to machine made; she believes that the heavy reliance on machines today have left designs soulless. Every handcrafted piece in the collection has a different story to tell and made with great attention to detail.
Known for its lightweight, intricate designing, impeccable quality but at guilt free prices. From statement kundan earrings to delicate studs, from neckpieces to maang tikkas all of them reflect a certain element of modern times.
The name “Mehtaphor” is a spin on her family name “Mehta”, which is her way of thanking them for her rich heritage and lineage.
Today, you can see Mehtaphor's jewelry in Bollywood movies, glitzy weddings and cocktail events and in selected boutiques in India, Dubai & New York!
